Gibb Retreat Terms and Conditions

Eligibility for Accommodation

Families from the Kimberley or Pilbara regions of Western Australia and have a family member undergoing treatment at Perth Children’s Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital or other Perth Hospitals will be eligible to apply to stay as will patients referred from a Doctor or Hospital.

First preference will be given to families with a child undergoing treatment.

Applications will be screened and The Kyle Andrews Foundation Inc. Committee will determine the final decision and no further correspondence will be entered into.


Rates and cost assistance

NW PATS Assisted: 

1-4 persons $100 per night ($500 per week) 

5-6 persons $1200 per night ($700 per week)

Other: 

1-4 persons $120 per night ($700 per week) 

5-6 persons $150 per night ($800 per week)


Payment Terms

Many WA families living in the northwest are covered by PATS (Patient Assistance Travel Scheme) and all necessary paperwork is required to be completed with PATS prior to arrival. PATS provide a subsidy of up to $65 per night. The balance is to be paid direct to KAF one week prior to arrival.

For bookings from outside of the North West pre payment is to be made one week in advance. For extended bookings, advance payment of one week prior to arrival then weekly in advance from thereon.

Length of Stay

Our Policy allows a minimum of a three night stay to a maximum of six weeks. Application for extended stays longer than six weeks can be made to the The Kyle Andrews Foundation Inc. for committee approval.


What to Bring and What is Provided

You will need to bring your personal clothing and personal care items. And provide your own shopping. The apartment is fully furnished and self-contained and includes;

  • Bed & Bath Linen
  • Crockery 
  • Cutlery & kitchen utensils
  • BBQ 
  • TV & DvD player
  • Wifi
  • Wheelchair
  • Shower Chair
  • Cot
  • High Chair
  • Stroller
  • Toys and Books • Board games

Limited basic items such as toilet paper, tea, coffee, sugar etc. and cleaning product will be provided on entry but tenants will need to shop and provide for their own needs thereafter.


Cleaning

Tenants will be expected to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the apartment. Our Cleaning Contractor will undertake a weekly cleaning inspection. A card will be left at the door to the apartment with the expected time of the weekly maintenance check.


Exit Procedure

o Wash, dry and fold all linen

o Re make beds

o Wash dishes and empty dishwasher

o Remove all rubbish to bins located on the ground floor 

o Clean bathrooms

o Clean kitchen

o Vacuum and mop floors

o Cover outdoor furniture

o Clean BBQ and replace cover

Funding

The Kyle Andrews Foundation Inc. is a not for profit organisation and funding for The Gibb Retreat is by way of donations, a number of annual fundraising events and the nightly rate charged for each stay towards cleaning and outgoings.
