The Kyle Andrews Foundation - Making the Dream a Reality In early 1998 a young Broome boy undergoing treatment for leukaemia at PMH (Princess Margaret Hospital)in Perth WA, had a dream of bringing some of his young friends from the ward to Cable Beach in Broome so that, in his words, " they might feel better". The main goals of the Kyle Andrews Foundation for 2008: Our Main Goals
- Kyle Andrews -
It was a life style he grew up with and at the young age of two could windsurf and surf. As the years went on he just got better and better. There was no one who could catch him at running or surf life saving and at the age of ten was Broome Surf Club Junior Ironman. Not only did he take out his age group, but he beat a number of older kids as well. His real love, however, was fishing and following in his brother Troy's footsteps, he spent his last years catching some of the best fish around Broome. In March of 1997 he was diagnosed with leukaemia and spent 16 months fighting the disease only to lose the battle on the 23rd July 1998.. |
